The Student Finance Team and Chancellor’s Office is dealing with all payment-related queries for students. You can contact them via student.finances@berlin-international.de or you can visit office 118. If you have a sensitive or urgent matter to discuss, you may wish to arrange an appointment by email first.
You can contact the Student Finance Department on student.finances@berlin-international.de and they will arrange the document for you. Please allow 3-5 working days to receive it.
Invoices will not be issued for your payments; you can find out your payment schedule on your UMIS account. Please contact the Student Finance Team if you need help: student.finances@berlin-international.de.
You can review payments made, amounts that will be due and when they are due to be paid in UMIS. For an example of the UMIS view and more information, please see: Financial Information Page. Please note that the system is not updated instantly and might take some time to display your payment. Keep a record of your payment receipt in the meantime.
You can find the bank details on your offer letter and in the Contract and Finance folder in BI Student Resources on MS Teams.
Cash payments can be accepted as a last resort, but we recommend making bank transfers. We do not accept credit card payments.
This is possible for students with EU citizenship . You can either do a Dauerauftrag from your bank to send the money directly or you can find the form to allow the university to collect the money from your account in the Contract and Finance folder in BI Student Resources on MS Teams. It is called SEPA Lastschrift. For any questions about setting up payments, please contact student.finances@berlin-international.de.
Any overpayment will be automatically assigned to the next payment due. Refunds can only be given upon request for graduating students. If you are graduating and have overpaid, please contact student.finances@berlin-international.de and request the refund with your full name, bank name, IBAN, BIC and the amount.
If you have missed a payment, don’t panic but just make the payment as soon as possible. If you know that you cannot make a payment, please contact: student.finances@berlin-international.de
If you are taking less than 15 ECTS in a given semester, you may pay 50% of that semester's tuition fees. If you are completing 15 ECTS or more, you will still need to pay your full fees. Should you need to take more ECTS than the standard 30 ECTS in a semester, your fees may be increased, especially if you are over your regular study time. For more information, refer to your study contract.
Your fees are calculated per semester, however if you are paying monthly, the full semester fee is split into 6 equal payments which you then pay per month.
This is possible to arrange. You can just calculate the full amount of the tuition and make the payment using the reference: Student Number_Last Name_First Name. If you require a payment receipt, please contact the Student Finance Team on student.finances@berlin-international.de.
