The ECYEH program is an initiative of the Pennsylvania Department of Education based on the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. This federal legislation guarantees that children and youth experiencing housing instability can access a free, appropriate, public education.
Our team is dedicated to ensuring that all students experiencing housing instability have an equitable opportunity to succeed in school. Through our collaboration with local schools and community partners, we address educational barriers faced by families and unaccompanied youth. We educate the public about the realities of homelessness, aiming to reduce stigma and raise awareness of the federal rights that protect eligible students.
Congratulations, Lisette Rivera, Site Coordinator for Families in Transition and Foster Care Point of Contact at the School District of Lancaster! Thank you for going above and beyond to support students experiencing homelessness.
We appreciate all that you do!
