Part I: Extraction of Carvacrol and Thymol from Thyme Leaves

In this part of the experiment you will extract carvacrol and thymol from dried thyme leaves using four different extraction solvents:

1. water, 2. organic solvent mixture (25% ethyl acetate : 75% heptane), 3. heptane, 4. methanol
