The learners will work together to achieve a common purpose.
- By collaborating with other learners.
- By developing creative and critical thinking skills.
- By participating and being engaged
- By reflecting on others work and own
- By creating team roles with rubrics, checklists, duties list, guidelines, etc.
Collaboration Module Directions:

1.) Complete the collaboration pre-assessment form.
2.) Read the coaching collaboration, understanding the standard, essential understandings, essential knowledge, skills and processes sections, and review the resource links.
3.) Complete and watch the attached assignments and videos in each section.
4.) Create a lesson/provide an example that involves student, peer or community collaboration and complete the exit ticket describing your experience.

- Collaboration relies on openness and knowledge sharing but also some level of focus and accountability.
- Collaboration requires responsibility of all stakeholders.
- Collaboration doesn't have to be in person, collaboration can be digitally.
- Checklist and/or rubric to complete the task and held responsible for their part of the assignment.

- All learners should understand that collaboration can be synchronous, where everyone interacts in real time, as in online meetings (example: Google Docs, Hangouts).
- All learners should understand that collaboration can be asynchronous, where the interaction can be time-shifted, as when uploading documents or annotations to shared work spaces (example: Google Docs, or making contributions to a wiki).

Digital tools support collaborative inquiry by making it easier to share ideas and information, engage in joint reflection, analyze data, problem solve, design and create plans for action, and connect with others.
Example of tools:
- Google Applications for Education- BCPS initiative
- Padlet- Create and collaborate via interactive multimedia bulletin boards
- Mindomo- Easy-to-create and share mind maps, concept maps, task maps and outlines.
- Popplet- A compact, simple organizational tool for minimalist presentation
- Group Maker- Improve classroom management and encourage collaborative work
- Mural- Multifaceted message boards help kids collaborate
- Peergrade- Feedback tool with great rubrics.
