Year 2 had lots of fun sharing their favourite books and who they had come as, it was wonderful to see so many of the children dressed up and excited about the day.
Over the last two weeks we have been using the text, 'The Secret Sky Garden,' to inspire our writing and art. To fully immerse ourselves we created our own gardens using pencils, pencils and oil pastels. The children were then able to think of some excellent expanded noun phrases and then incorporate these within their own setting descriptions.
In Art, we have created our own paper flowers for our whole school art project. These will be used in the 3D corridor display, so keep an eye out for this over the next few weeks!
Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed sharing their books with the children in Scotney class. We were so impressed with all of the children's communication skills and how brilliantly they worked together.
Well done to all those who sent in photos of themselves reading in an interesting place. We loved looking through them!
