Our first World Book Day! Reception were so excited to show their friends and teachers their costumes and share with them their favourite books. Have a look at our class photos below and see if you can recognise any of the book characters!

This week we have enjoyed reading the whole school focus text 'The Secret Sky Garden'. We loved the bright, colourful flowers in the story and have even felt inspired to plant some flowers of our own in our outdoor area.
We looked at this image from the story and wrote simple sentences about what we could see.
We have been busy creating flowers to add to our whole academy display inspired by the story 'The Secret Sky Garden'. For this we used paper plates, paint and a range of printing techniques.
On World Book Day we were lucky enough to have some visitors from Year 3 Oldbury Hill and Year 2 Rochester Castle classes. They came with their favourite books to share with us. We thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to read with them again soon.
