Reception

This week in Reception was filled with festive excitement. The absolute highlight was the Christmas Sing-Along, where the children showcased their confidence with fantastic singing voices and performed their Makaton signing alongside it. In Inquiry, we continued our journey into the world of 'The Jolly Postman', enjoying the exploration of different fairy tale characters. We specifically focused on learning about the stories of Goldilocks and Little Red Riding Hood, creating puppets and masks to aid us in retelling. In Phonics this week, we introduced and practiced the phonemes f, ff and ss. The children thoroughly enjoyed spotting these sounds within words and actively applied their phonetic skills to segment and blend them, aiding their early reading development.
