It has been fantastic to see the children return after the break full of enthusiasm for our new Module and they have enjoyed a busy and inspiring week of learning across the curriculum. In English, the children have been learning about Albert Einstein and his curiosity about the world. We explored how his thoughtful and imaginative questions helped him to make important discoveries, which in turn inspired the children’s own writing. They enjoyed thinking deeply, asking questions, and sharing their ideas creatively. They made links between sugar dissolving in Albert's tea and how the salt
In maths, the focus has been on understanding equal and unequal groups. The children practised adding equal groups and developed fluency by counting in steps of 2, 5 and 10. These activities helped strengthen both number sense and problem-solving skills.
Design and Technology lessons introduced wheels and axles, where the children explored how these simple mechanisms help objects move. In science, we began learning about materials, identifying different types and discussing their properties.
In PE, the children worked hard to develop their physical skills through jumping activities and dodgeball, showing teamwork, resilience and enthusiasm.
Well done on a brilliant start Year 2!
