Dear Parents and Carers,
Happy New Year! I hope you all had a restful break and enjoyed some quality time with friends and family. It is wonderful to welcome our community back for the start of the new module.
We have a number of exciting things happening this term, most notably our IB PYP Programme Re-evaluation. For those new to the process, this is a formal review that takes place every few years to ensure we are meeting the high global standards of the International Baccalaureate.
What does this mean for our academy?
For Pupils: It is a chance to celebrate their curiosity and show how they are becoming independent, global thinkers.
For Parents: It reinforces our commitment to providing a world-class, inquiry-based education for your children.
For Staff: It is an opportunity to reflect on our teaching practices and continue to grow professionally.
We look forward to welcoming the team of visitors later this module and showcasing the exceptional learning that takes place in our academy every day. Your children have already returned with such energy, and the classrooms are already filled with excitement for the year ahead.
Here’s to a fantastic start to 2026.
Mrs J Tipple
Principal
Please find our updated PE schedule below, which will take effect from Monday 12th January 2026.
While some year groups remain unchanged, others have been updated to accommodate essential scheduling requirements across the academy.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
It is time to get active and creative. We are thrilled to remind you that our full range of after-school clubs begins next week.
As shared in our communications, we have a special new partner joining us for Module 3 and 4. Sunflower Drama Club will be hosting sessions right here at the academy. Whether your child is a budding star or just looking to have fun and make new friends, this is a wonderful opportunity.
Please see the attached flyer for information on Sunflower Drama Club and how to secure a spot.
We would like to inform parents and carers that we are currently reviewing and updating a number of academy policies. This work ensures our policies remain clear, robust, and aligned with our values.
The updates focus in particular on the following policies:
• Behaviour Policy 2025–2026
• Relationships, Health and Sex Education (RSHE) Policy
The updated documents will be shared in next week’s edition of Best of Bearsted.
We value our partnership with parents and carers and welcome your feedback. If you have any questions or comments about these updates, please contact Mrs Ranger via email at cro@bearsted.latrust.org.uk. All queries will be addressed in a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) response
