Safer Internet Day 2026: Smart Tech, Safe Choices
We are pleased to announce that on Tuesday, 10th February 2026, our academy will be joining schools and organisations across the UK to celebrate Safer Internet Day. As technology evolves, so do the opportunities and challenges our children face. This year’s campaign theme is "Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI." Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly becoming a part of our daily lives, and we are using this opportunity to start a positive conversation about how to use these powerful tools safely and responsibly.
Throughout this module, each week’s Best of Bearsted entry will share a specific "Top Tip" designed to help parents and carers navigate the world of AI. We want to empower you with the knowledge to keep you and your loved ones safe online.
This week's top tip is:
Enjoy going online together and talk regularly about your family’s online lives

The internet is amazing and can help us all to access information and entertainment.
Spend time online with your child to understand how they are using technology and talk together about the good and the bad parts of being online.
Talk about your own experiences and find other opportunities to get the conversation started, like stories in the news.
Make sure your child knows they can talk to you about anything that they see or experience online.
