Reception

What a busy week we have had in Reception! 

In maths, we focused on understanding 1 more and 1 less, using engaging rhymes like ‘5 Little Speckled Frogs’ to reinforce the learning. Our Phonics sessions introduced the phonemes /r/ and /th/, which the children practised writing and then used to develop their segmenting and blending skills. We also had two important special events this week; this included creating a beautiful collaborative poppy field using various art techniques for Remembrance Day on Tuesday. 

We finished the week with a fun dress-up day for Children in Need on Friday, where the children learned about the importance of fundraising to help those in need.
