This week in Year 3, we started our exciting new module. In music, we explored Latin dance, listening carefully to the beat and learning about the different parts that make up a song — such as the chorus, verse, and instrumental break. We then learnt a series of Latin dance moves and combined them into a lively routine to music. In our inquiry learning, we have been comparing life in the Stone Age to life today. We looked closely at how things have changed over time, exploring topics such as bacteria and health, culture and food, transport, and human and physical geography features. Through drama, we acted out different scenarios involving bacteria — such as before cooking or after sneezing — and discussed how to stay safe and healthy through good hygiene, like proper handwashing. In English, we have been preparing to write our very own Stone Age newspaper reports. We examined examples of real reports to identify key features, helping us understand what makes an effective and eye-catching article. In RE, we worked collaboratively in groups to create presentations about Christian people and organisations. We shared our presentations today, showing great confidence and teamwork as we taught each other what we had learned.
