Reception

We’ve had a busy and active week of learning and discovery in Reception! In Maths, we became excellent number experts, focusing on numbers 1, 2, and 3. We worked hard to find these quantities in our environment, experimented with representing them in many creative ways, and got super speedy at subitising! We also used familiar tales like ‘The Gingerbread Man’ to explore the concept of '1 more'. In Phonics, we have been reinforcing our knowledge by recapping all the phonemes and their matching actions, practicing identifying initial sounds in objects and words, and excitedly modeling how to read simple CVC words by adding sound buttons, segmenting, and blending them together. Finally, we were thrilled to have our very first P.E. session, where we had fun moving our bodies in different ways, walking and travelling just like various animals!
