Important things

Attendance

Children benefit most from what we offer if they attend every day. The way we plan out curricilum means that regular attendance is really important, so that children can make connections within the enquiries that we run with our Mantle of the Expert approach.

If you child is unable to come to school, you need to call the school in the morning to make us aware.

If you need to request an absence in advance e.g. medical appointments, there is an absence request form. We need an absence request for all types of absence - time off for funerals, visits to secondary schools etc. Please note, it is highly unlikely that term-time holidays will be authorised apart from in truly exceptional circumstances. A form needs to be submitted for these too as we have an obligation to know where children are throughout term time.

See our Policy page for our attendance policy.

Lunches

All the information about school lunches is found on the Bealings Cafe page. Don't forget to order your child's lunches one week in advance by Wednesday evening of the preceding week.

School Milk

Children under five are entitled to free school milk and children over five are entitled to milk at a subsidised price. Once they turn five you can register online https://www.coolmilk.com/

Adverse Weather

During periods of severe weather conditions we will do our best to keep parents informed of any information via ParentMail. For the most up to date information about any school closures please see the Suffolk County Council website School Closures.

Medicines

If you need the school to give your child medication please print off and complete this form or collect one from the office.  No medicine will be administered without this form.

Allergies

If your child has any allergies and intolerances please let the school office know so that we can make all staff and the cafe aware.

Flexi-Schooling

A small number of families opt for a flexi-schooling approach. This is a pre-agreed pattern that means that children attend a different setting or are educated at home on a set day every week. If you are interested in our flexi-schooling appraoch, please get in touch with the school office. Flexi-school arrangements are agreed at the discretion of the headteacher and may be dependent on a child's attendance.

Pick-ups

If someone else is picking your child up at the end of the school day, please make sure that the office knows so that we can enter it into our diary.

Clubs and Wraparound

Some children attend Pitstop.

We have after school clubs on the following days:

Tuesday: KS2 Netball

Thursday: KS1 Football

Friday: KS2 Football

We are starting our own provision from September 2024. Click here to find out more about Bealings' Dragons.
