Coach Dale Oehler

Coach Oehler is coming off his 4th season as Cougars Head Coach.

Prior to moving to South Brunswick, Coach Oehler took over a losing program in New Jersey and within a 3 year period, the program consistently ranked in the top 10 of its 32 team conference and made both the conference playoffs as well as the state tourney. Prior to that, Oehler was part of a group that founded Rumson Fair Haven boys lacrosse where he also coached, now a state wide power in New Jersey. Players he has coached have been recruited to all levels of College lacrosse - Div 1, 2, 3 and MCLA.

His playing career went from Wilton HS in Connecticut, another state power, to being recruited to play for Lebanon Valley College - at the time a nationally ranked program, in PA. He was a 4 year starter and a 2 time All Conference 1st team player. Following college, he played for teams in Houston, Chicago and Los Angeles before beginning a long coaching career.

Coach Oehler is a member of the LVC Athletic Hall of Fame; a member of the New Jersey Lacrosse Hall of Fame and was a long time president of the New Jersey South Chapter of USA Lacrosse, the national governing body for the sport.

The program continues to gain momentum after garnering the most wins ever and qualifying for the state tournament. After winning their first round game, another program first, they fell to the #1 state seed in the 2nd round.

He resides in St James where he serves as a volunteer Firefighter for the SJ FD,  along with his wife Holly, an avid golfer. They have 2 grown sons, Steve and Ryan along with 2 grandchildren, Madison and Tom.

Oehler is also the H/C of Wildtide lacrosse, a local club program for summer and fall tournament play and consists of players from all 3 of the Brunswick County HS's.
