Jacob Mullis: (1995-1999) Jake played football, basketball and baseball while at TC Roberson. Jake was a two-time all-conference performer in football where he played 8 different positions in his two years on the varsity. He played varsity basketball for two years receiving all-conference, all region, Citizen-Times all-WNC, Hendersonville Times-News all WNC honors. Jake was selected to play in the Blue-White All Star game his senior year. In basketball, Jake averaged 20 ppg, 6 rpg and 3.5 assists per game his senior year. Jake was a two-time all conference selection in baseball. He was also selected to the all-state team his senior year when he helped his team to an undefeated regular season, a regional championship and a state runner-up. Jake was also selected to the Citizen-Times and Times-News all WNC teams his senior year when he batted .425 with 7 home runs. He also achieved an 11-1 record with a 1.80 era as a pitcher. Following his senior year, Jake became the first recipient of the Juan Chesson Memorial scholarship award. Following high school, Jake attended UNC-Wilmington where he was a starting pitcher for all four years. Jake finished his career at UNCW as the all-time leader in games started by a pitcher, 2nd in career wins, 2nd in innings pitched, 2nd in career shutouts, and 3rd in career strikeouts. He also led his team to its first ever regional appearance and was the winning pitcher in the team’s first ever regional win. At UNCW, Jake was a multiple winner of the CAA Pitcher of the Week and was a member of the All Decade team. Following UNCW, Jake was drafted in the 15 th round by the Kansas City Royals where he played in their minor league system for 3 years. Jake lives in Dallas, TX where he works in real estate. Jake and his wife, Shea are active in the Big Brother, Big Sister and Big Family programs in Dallas.
