Calling all students and advisors who will be attending MASC's 2024 leadership convention in Ocean City! Attend this tie dye and trivia event to learn about MASC Convention, tie-dye your ASCBC t-shirt, and team up with other students for a round of trivia. Parents are also encouraged to attend.

On February 8, 4:30-5:45pm, City Schools and ASCBC will be co-hosting a forum for students to provide feedback on the district budget AND learn how they can influence the budget process at their school. Students can attend virtually or in-person at Dunbar HS. ASCBC’s Exec Board is partnering with district office staff to make sure that this session is engaging and empowering for students.
ASCBC hosted 32 schools at its Winter General Assembly where students participated in twelve leadership workshops developed and led by other students.
In October, 2023, Baltimore City held its first city-wide election for the Student Commissioner for the School Board and ASCBC Officers. Over 2,000 students cast their votes.
On October 14, ASCBC and Digital Harbor High School hosted the Maryland Association of Student Councils' Workshop Facilitator Training. Students from around the state attended and learned about workshop development and facilitation. Seven ASCBC student leaders participated (from Patterson High School, Mergenthaler Vocational Technical High School, Digital Harbor High School, and Baltimore Polytechnic High School). We look forward to seeing these students present at future MASC conferences!
On October 3, ASCBC held its Fall General Assembly. During the GA, students discussed 10 issues, which will become ASCBC's Issues Platform for this school year. The Issues Platform directs ASCBC's advocacy activities for the year. Students came together from 33 schools to provide their input on ASCBC's priorities for the year.
On June 1, ASCBC held its Spring General Assembly. SGA students from 26 schools participated in youth-led training in the legislative process and ratification of important amendments to ASCBC's constitution.
The inaugural City Hall SGA Day was a success! ASCBC brought students from six Baltimore City high schools to meet with City Council members and staff. Students workshopped bills, discussed the legislative process with Council President Mosby, toured City Hall with the Mayor’s staff, and learned about the Comptroller’s Office and the Board of Estimates.
ASCBC was the second largest delegation at MASC's Ocean City Convention, with 13 schools and 47 students attending.
On March 6, ASCBC held its Winter General Assembly. SGA students from 33 schools participated in youth-led trainings on advocacy, organizing, and leadership.
The 2023 Legislative Session, February 11, 2023 (snow date February 18), is an in-person conference at Wheaton High School in Montgomery County. This conference is only open to MASC Member Schools. (January 4–January 25, 2023, advisors may register students from their school.)
