2.2: Energy Conservation
Action 1: Power Down Hour for March
Upper Elementary students are planning a power down hour for March; they will challenge their peers throughout the school to power down their classrooms for one hour, and will proceed through their lesson without relying on tools that require electricity.

Action 2: LED Lighting for the Student Kitchen
As part of the 2019-20 Green, Healthy, Smart, Challenge project, our Student Green Team requested funds to purchase energy efficient lighting for the student kitchen space. After a few facility tweaks to prepare the kitchen walls, students are ready to unpack and install their new lighting:

Action 3: Winterizing Classrooms
During a particularly cold winter, families pitched in to winterize drafty windows in the classrooms. Families volunteered to purchase and install window treatment kits to better seal in warm air in the classrooms and reduce energy consumption.
