The Gryphonius
Introduction:
The Gryphonius is a mammal with a large back bone. It is a nocturnal creature which means it comes out at night to hunt. The Gryphonius hunts at night and it's a cannibal.
Appearance:
The Gryphonius has a warm, furry body with a light layer of blubber to keep it warm. It has a similar body size to a horse and it has large wings on its back. It has gills on the side of its body to help it breathe underwater as well as on land. The big eyes on it's head helps it to see in the dark at night. It's feet are big to help squash its prey. The Gryphonius kills it's prey for fun when it's bored. The Gryphonius has horns on the back of it's head to help fend off predators.
Habitat:
Our animal lives in the equator where it's the warmest place on this frozen world to be specific. We made it so he lives right in the middle where there's the most plants and water sources. It is also where all the tasty food is. He needs all the plants because he likes trees and he lives in one. He likes to chill on tree tops and wait for prey to fly past. They like to sleep at the top of trees in their big nests they build.

Adaptations:
Some of the Gryphonius' are nocturnal and some aren't. It likes to hunt the sleeping ones. The ones that hunt in the day, team up and the ones that hunt in the night team up. It really likes the cold temperatures so if it's too hot they will find shade to stay cool. With an animal, it's very sensitive so it likes to stay clean so he doesn't go crazy because he gets itchy when he's dirty and when he tries to itch himself, he just cuts himself with his very sharp claws.
Something interesting about the animal is it is about the size of a buffalo so it's pretty big. It makes a massive nest at the tops of trees to sleep and chill. The nest is made of many different resources like bones, mud and fur for the prey it kills. The Gryphonius lays eggs instead of having live young. The eggs are a similar size to an ostrich (which are huge).
