P.B.L. Report: Ghibious Drenchious

The grass shakes and you feel your bones rattle. You were just drinking from a stream and then suddenly before you can think, a Ghibion pops out and your herd is slaughtered and consumed by just one Ghibion.

That would be the life of a deer on Planet X, if a fearsome Ghibion was around.

They are qualified as a vertebrate and an amphibian. They are at the top of the food chain since to be fair, who would hunt one of them?

The Ghibion has a long tail shaped like a beavers and it is covered in thick fur with razor sharp teeth. It kind of has a cat-like appearance. It's heavy fur coat is to keep it warm as well as some blubber. Its beaver-like tail is to help it steer under water when it swims. Speaking of swimming, the Ghibion has a one of a kind adaptation to help it hold its breath! It has lung-like pockets with tiny gaps on its back so when it's above land the air seeps in and when it goes under water the pockets on its back are connected to its lungs, so it kind of has an artificial dome of air attached to its back. This blends in pretty well to it's overall figure.

The Ghibion lives in a part of Planet X kind of in between the poles and the equator, in the grasslands. When it falls asleep, it will dig a burrow, which it usually reuses from the previous night. They mainly spend their time in the grass land only going to freshwater to eat, swim a difficult stream or chase prey, but they have been known to have a swim just for fun!

They have a number of subtle background behavioural adaptations, but they don't have any main traits that would be considered mental apart from a higher IQ than the average animal. They are very good at setting up ambushes and they have an amazing memory and sense of smell.

But here are the Ghibion's MS GREN features:

MOVEMENT: It uses its legs to walk and to swim.

RESPIRATION: Mouth➡️Lungs⬅️small opening that closes under water to and traps oxygen to breathe.

SENSES: Smell, Touch and Sight because it doesn't need hearing due to its amazing smell nor taste because there is no need for it!

GROWTH: It mainly just grows in size and finishes at 2 months of growing.

REPRODUCTION: It lays eggs with a layer of blubbery insulation.

NUTRITION: It eats deer, fish, sheep and lots of other poor, unfortunate animals. 

EXCRETION: It throws up unnecessary waste.

All in all, a Ghibion is a fearsome animal growing up to 0.8 meters tall, 0.4 meters wide and 1.6 meters long. It only ever lives up to 20 years of age. 

Your best bet for getting away from a Ghibion is always going to be to get up high where it can’t reach you at all. So, if you go and explore Planet X and see a Ghibion striding towards you, climb a tree or you’ll be torn to shreds!
