Mr. Keating on to bigger and better things

Next year Mr. Keating will be joining the office, taking an assistant principal role, evaluating other teachers and taking on Mrs. Joyce’s old role as testing coordinator.

“Yes, I am very excited to take on this new role,” Keating said. “It will be hard to replace Mrs. Joyce because she has been one of the best for many years."

As testing coordinator, he will be in charge of helping sign students up for standardized tests like the PSAT and the ACT.

Mr. Keating has been a teacher at Badin for seven years and it will be hard to see him move on, but he’s ready.

“I will miss teaching because that has always been my passion, but this new opportunity is too good to pass up,” Keating said.

Mr. Keating has also coached baseball for a few years, but hasn’t this year due to his new baby being born in January.

“I hope to be able to coach again, but only time will tell,” Keating said.
