Mr. Gretz, a business and technology teacher, is retiring at the end of the 2018-2019 school year.
It’s not all over for Mr. Gretz though, as he looks to turn the page onto a new life-- in the food industry. It wasn’t that Gretz disliked his job at Badin, it was more of the opportunity to achieve a lifelong dream that motivated him to move on.
“I’ve always wanted to make food and own a food truck,” Gretz said.
Mr. Gretz will be driving a food truck and making the food as well. The prized commodity? Bacon.
“I’ll make different foods of course, but they all have bacon in them. We’ll have candied sriracha bacon, bacon cheeseburgers, BLTs of course and many more,” Gretz said.
Gretz hasn’t always loved making food, but it slowly turned into that.
“I got into it through a work study, and then it became something that I might really want to do,” Gretz said.
Gretz is leaving to bigger things, but there certainly are things that he will miss about his job here.
“I’m going to miss challenging students the most. Seeing them have to work to get to solutions is the part I’ll miss the most,” Gretz said.
