Retreats are the best kind of sweet treat.
The old sophomore retreat has come to a decisive close, making way for a new type of retreat. Sophomores have deeply enjoyed spending time with new people and making new friendships on the previous, one-day retreat, a lot more can be accomplished on the overnight stay. Three retreat dates were planned in January, March, and the last one in May, each turning out to be a great success.
“Making new friendships made me the happiest because I have become friends with people I never knew I would,” sophomore retreatant Jessica Stidham said.
Retreats are a special way to become closer to different people and to help build up others rather bring them down.
“You should open up more to people and experience new things even if you are afraid to,” sophomore Kimberly Salerno advised future retreatants.
Spending time with other people that you are not particularly close to, helps bring up new perspectives. Opening up to others helps you realize how different and unique everyone is and how we are all our own little packages of greatness.
“I learned that I keep a lot of stuff to myself which is purely based on thinking that know one will understand. Knowing you can let it go relieves that weight off your shoulders,” sophomore Rachael Cadman said.
Retreat has made a positive impact on the sophomore class and everyone has left with several great memories, new friends, and an even greater appreciation for what we have.
