Badin students finally came back to school on Jan. 7, 2019 after their extensive winter break.
Since many high school students enjoy being out of school, coming back to class was difficult for many.
“I don’t like being back from break because school is stressful and I hate waking up early,” said sophomore Tess Vansteenkiste.
During winter break, students can relax and do the things they love more, rather than if they regularly have school.
“I typically slept, ate, played with my dog, Coconut, and just chilled,” said Vansteenkiste.
While most students dread coming back to school, there are a select few that are ready to come back.
“I felt really good about coming back to school. Yes, it was sad because no one likes school, (sorry if I offend any teachers) but it was good to get back on a set time of when you go to bed and wake up rather than going to bed at five in the morning and waking up at one in the afternoon,” said junior Nathan Schuster.
Even though many students are quick to point out the bad things about coming back to school, there are still many good things about coming back to school.
“I missed seeing people everyday, it’s always good to talk to different people. Plus my mom doesn’t really laugh at my jokes, so it’s good to joke with new people,” said Schuster.
Now that school is back in session, students are already looking forward to the next days off or next breaks.
“I liked to sleep a lot and hang out with my friends. It’s nice to not worry about tests and studying so I can be relaxed and not stressed,” said Vansteenkiste.
When all students were polled about winter break there were a variety of answers.
A majority of students were not ready to come back to school, but there were still a few students who wanted to come back to school.
According to the statistics, many students hung out with friends and family. Others enjoyed sleeping, relaxing on vacation, or playing video games.
When it comes to what they did miss about school, most students missed their friends. Other missed some of their teachers like Señora Grieser, Mrs. Heinrich, Mr. Zimmerman and Mr. Merz.
