School can be tiring, and we all can’t wait for a long break.
Days off school are never complained about, but between the four breaks we receive throughout the school year, everyone has a favorite and a least favorite.
“Christmas break is my favorite because it’s the longest break and I get more time to myself and to spend with family and friends,” junior Kaitlyn Wilms said.
I decided to take a poll to see which break would be rated most favored between Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter/Spring, and summer. From the responses, summer was rated to be people’s most favorite break, followed by Christmas.
Summer is rated the favorite break is because it’s the longest break. Thanksgiving break was rated the least favorite break because it was the shortest followed by Easter/Spring, then Christmas.
“Summer break is my favorite. It starts my favorite softball season, I finally get to go on vacation, and the sun is always up super late,” said sophomore Caitlin Smith.
Though sometimes the number of days in a break isn’t the most important, it’s about the activities you do over the break.
Junior Evie Wurzelbacher shared her favorite memory. “During the summer it was my sister, my mom and I and we were on this old golf cart in the garage. My dad’s truck was parked behind the golf cart and we were all crammed into the seat together. But, we didn’t realize the golf cart was in reverse instead of drive. So my mom hit the gas and we drove back into my dad’s truck. Luckily there was no damage done to his truck but we all looked at each like, ‘did we seriously just do that?!’ said Wurzelbacher.
Through spills and thrills, breaks are always something to look forward to and to look back at.
