Due to Covid-19 plans are constantly changing. Contact your campus office if you have additional questions.
Students are expected to attend every class. Research shows that missing just two days of school a month can negatively affect a student’s overall academic performance. However, if your child is sick, please allow your child to remain home.
Absences also disrupt learning and make it hard to keep up with the lessons being taught. Whether your child attends in Face-to-Face platform or online, attendance will be taken daily.
Consequences for multiple absences include:
· Behavior plan,
· Student and parent conference,
· Loss of Credit,
· Referral to truancy court.
Students will be marked as present or absent based on whether the student was "engaged" each day.
What does "engage" look like?
Feedback provided by teachers to students in an online learning platform on a daily basis.
A report through the system that shows the number of minutes the student was online each day (Per TEA activity will be measured from 12:00 AM through 11:59 PM).
Progress as determined by teacher/student interactions made daily through phone calls, email and/or virtual meetings.
Assignments / discussions turned-in daily in an online learning platform.
