The skills and proficiencies evaluated in Category 1: Technical Skills and Knowledge are focused on data evaluation, risk communication, incident reporting, and through a written exam that represents a topical analysis of concepts covered in the PRO 2. Utilizing the storm profile exercise and avalanche bulletin worksheet, as well as digging into the technical report guidance will help you prepare for the daily classroom and field activities leading up to your evaluation days.
The Written Exam will cover all of the major categories presented in the modules, as well as topics presented on the course. It may be given in a virtual format, such as a Google Form, or a printed copy can be requested. This is a closed resource exam. The written exam is worth 15% of the course grade and can be retested after 14 days post-course. This option will be proctored virtually at a cost to the student.
You can use the Check For Understandings Quiz at the end of module 2 to review material and prepare for the exam.
