WHAT WE LEARNED!
In social studies, third-grade students learned about Arizona's Government. Students created an interactive Arizona studies notebook. They kept track of new vocabulary words, wrote notes, annotated on informational text, and much more. Students learned about Arizona social studies standards while applying reading and writing standards they have mastered during the school year. Students used the information they learned in order to write a persuasive letter to an Arizona Representative asking for a law to be changed or added.
In this unit, students learned about Arizona's early years including its original constitution.
In this unit, Students learned about Arizona's State Capitol, Phoenix, and the Grand Canyon.
In this unit, students learned about Arizona's branches of government and how each branch works.
In this unit, students learned about freedom, being a good citizen and getting involved in Arizona's government.
