During our dinosaur unit, students learned about a different dinosaur every day. Some of the dinosaurs we studied included: Stegosaurus, Tyranasaurus Rex, Triceratops, Brachiosaurus, Spinosaurus, Ankylosaurus and the Apatosaurus.
Students learned about the lifecycle of a frog. The can identify eggs, tadpole, tadpole with legs, froglet and finally, an adult frog. During this unit, students also learned about the frogs habitat. Frogs can live in a pond with lily pads, cat tails and other flora. One of the main art projects we worked on was creating tadpoles out of egg cartons. Students painted the tadpole and added tails and eyes.
Ice Cream Dot Art-students practiced fine motor and math skills by using dot markers to count and dot each cone.
Favorite Ice Cream Flavor Graph-students wrote their name on their preferred scoop and taped to our graph.
Cutting and gluing ice cream cones-students cut out and glued cone and scoop of ice cream to paper. Lastly, they glued sprinkles to the ice cream.
Ice Cream Cone Painting-students dipped ice cream cones into paint and created circles.
Our ocean unit is our most recent unit of study. Students are currently learning about different types of ocean animals such as jelly fish, sea turtles, starfish and a variety of fish.
