What do you need to do?

  • You can decide which activities you would like to do each day. We suggest that you try to do one activity from each of the headings; Connect, Solve, Create, Get Moving but you need to make this work with the routines that you have at home.

  • Your classroom teacher might set your whole class a task so check your emails and look out for Google Meets

  • Some of these activities have Google Docs that have been created for you. All of these activities are already in your Google Drive. You can use this site to look at the different activities available, and then go to your Google Drive to complete set tasks. There are HEAPS of activities in your Google Drive already for you to do!

  • Email your classroom teacher if you are unsure, if you cannot find something or if you need help.

Working Online

Although we can’t be in the same class each day, we can still connect online and look after each other as we continue with our learning. This is a great opportunity for you to show our AVALON Values, whilst you are working from home. There are a few thing that you can do each day to keep safe and healthy

Tips for Students

Begin each day by checking your emails and completing your timetable for the day

  • What learning activities are you going to do today?

  • What will your timetable look like?

  • Get in touch with your teacher if you need any help

  • How are you going to keep active today, look after your wellbeing and take breaks?

Establish a routine

  • Try to set up a routine for you so that you can do a bit of work, have a break, spend time with your whānau and then do a bit more work.

Use Technology as a learning tool

  • Try not to spend your whole day in front of a screen! It is easy to get distracted when you are working online but remember that your device can connect you with your teacher, classmates and your learning so you use it as a tool for this, rather than social media.

Use our AVALON values and behave safely when working online

  • You have been at our school for at least one term now so you will know that our AIS values are very important to everyone in our learning community.

  • Remember these values when you are working online - they are all important but showing manaakitanga is incredibly important right now!
