Art Task 2: Cryptic Puzzle
Have a look at the following images and see if you can work out the staff members the image represents.
Some of them are easy, some you may need some help from an adult.
When you have finished, have a go at making your own using any subject matter you want. The trick is to not draw a picture of the actual thing, breaking it down to syllables or sounds. If you’re not confident at drawing try using stick figures.
Here’s some subject matters you could use;
Fruit, music groups, song titles, animals, countries, famous You Tubers, characters from Fortnite, Sports, clothing, class members at AIS, cars, breeds of rare indigenous cati of Australia!

Art Task 1: Go through these pictures of famous paintings, choose one, and use props from your house to re-enact the painting using yourself, members of your family and your phone to photograph it.
Think about where you can photograph your scene, what light will make it look more authentic, what colours and props can you use, think about facial expressions, angles and comparing your photo to the picture.
Email your photo and reference the original artwork to Mrs Herd at kirstenh@avalonintermediate.school.nz
