Candidates hold a Single Subject or Educational Specialist Credential and are required to participate in an approved induction program, as stated on the credential.
Process of Induction Enrollment
Upon hiring, Human Resources (HR) will inform the qualified teachers of their eligibility for the program, along with the Coordinator of New Teacher Support in order to ensure a teacher-mentor partnership as soon as possible. Teacher-Mentor partnerships are determined by credentials held, subject area and school site.
All eligible Induction Candidates will receive registration information, which includes requirements for the one year Early Completion Option (ECO). All eligible ECO candidates will be verified by the AUHSD Induction staff.
Induction Candidates, along with their Mentors, will attend a mandatory orientation session at the District office within the first two weeks of the start of school. During orientation, an overview of the Induction program, and its requirements are provided.
The Coordinator of New Teacher Support is in regular contact with both new teachers and mentors to provide support and guidance throughout the Induction process.
Early Completion Option (ECO)
