Acalanes Union High School District's Induction Collaborative Team
Please click the link, AUHSD Induction Team, to see the individuals who have been involved in the program’s design, including their titles, roles and credential(s) held and/or qualifications. Throughout Stage I & II, AUHSD has had an internal working group that meets quarterly, co-faciliated by Associate Superintendent of Educational Services and the New Teacher Coordinator, both of whom have regularly consulted with professionals outside of AUHSD for advice and feedback.. As AUHSD continues the process of accreditation, eventual implementation, evaluation and continual improvement, we will formalize our Advisory Collaborative Team by the time the program is ready to launch and become operational, along with asking members to agree to to attend quarterly meetings (in person or on-line), along with signing a Memorandum of Understanding.
Sample Meeting Agenda for AUHSD Internal Induction Working Group. Summary provided below.
Attendees: John Walker (Associate Superintendent), Amy McNamara (Deputy Superintendent), Leigh Gregory (Director of SPED), Mary Rodriquez (Director of English Language Learner Services), Shelly Hadley (Executive Assistant for Adm. Services), Natalie Moore (Induction Mentor) & Molly Kerr (New Teacher Coordinator).
Molly followed up with an updated draft of the Teacher Induction Handbook, specifically addressing the committees stated desire from the previous month’s meeting to design a grievance policy and procedure that would be centered in servicing the teacher and not the mentor or the District.
Molly distributed copies of policy ad procedure that she had designed in partners with Amy McNamara, who oversees HR, to ensure that the Induction program was aligned with District policies.
Committee reviewed documents and was positive in their feedback.
John projected the draft of the Induction website for the Committee Members to “walk them through” the design and structure. Committee will review independently and come back to next meeting with feedback and suggestions.
Molly reported that CTC Stage II application should be ready to submit before spring break, and before the committee meets again.
Committee recommended that Molly reach out to the folks she has been consulting with in program design for feedback and suggestions before they meet again as a committee and before the CTC Stage II Submission in Spring.
