Please allow up to two and a half hours for each person to complete the STEM-ESS Assessment.
We recommend that your entire STEM-ESS Team participate in the STEM-ESS Assessment. Up to 50 participants may complete the Assessment, including students, community partners (e.g. K12, industry).
We provide training for the STEM-ESS Assessment during a virtual webinar that is recorded for later viewing.
The output of the STEM-ESS Assessment is a comprehensive report that we call the Current State Assessment (CSA). An example CSA may be viewed here.

The STEM-ESS team is chartered to oversee and navigate the STEM-ESS process. The proposal development team is focused on a single proposal effort and may include a subset of the STEM-ESS Team, as well as additional members with domain expertise that pertains to the proposed research project.
Any institution with the desire to SERVE Latinos and underrepresented students in STEM can benefit from undertaking the STEM-ESS process. Emerging HSIs, new HSIs, and other Minority Serving Institutions may find the STEM-ESS practices helpful in establishing a Hispanic Serving Identity in STEM education.
As of this time, there has been one STEM-ESS Institute that was sponsored in April 2020. We are currently in decision making about if/when the next STEM-ESS Institute will be held. Click here to be added to the distribution list for the next STEM-ESS Institute.
