A brief history
A brief history
The Center for Broadening Participation in STEM at Arizona State University aims to achieve equity and inclusivity for underrepresented students in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). To meet this goal and to maximize STEM's economic and educational benefits, the center focuses on bringing together underrepresented students, faculty and community colleges with STEM educational opportunities.
The center develops specific plans and programs that help community college faculty and administrators effectively and efficiently train students in STEM. With this in mind, center staff also help faculty and administrators identify promising areas of funding - and helps them write proposals to get that funding.
