Our team is passionate about broadening participation in STEM education. Collectively, we have over 35 years experience in STEM Education research about underrepresented students in STEM and faculty professional development. Our primary focus is on community colleges and their partnerships with K-12, University, and industry partners.
The KickStarter project organized many of the components used in STEM-ESS into a repeatable process that aided 24 2-year Hispanic Serving Institutions across six states in developing competitive proposals to NSF. A 53% overall award rate resulted in $15M for these institutions to improve their STEM education programs.
