A McMeal at a Taiwanese McDonald’s costs about 130 TWD (about $4.22 USD). To compare this with US pricing standards, a McMeal at a McDonald’s in the US costs around $7.00, so the price of fast food in Taiwan is relatively lower than the price of fast food in the United States.
The figure on the right is a Chipotle menu with prices shown in US Dollars. The price of each entreé is based on the protein base of the dish. This is a simple pricing model that is easy for consumers to understand. In order to keep this pricing model, we suggest that Chipotle restaurants in Taiwan charge:
- 140 TWD ($4.55 USD) for Chicken, Veggie, and Sofritas entreés
- 150 TWD ($4.87 USD) for Carnitas entreés
- 160 TWD ($5.20 USD) for Steak and Barbacoa entreés
