Class Registration

Resolve Holds on Your Account

Log into MyASU to see if you have any holds listed in the "Priority Tasks" box. Typically, holds will appear in bold red font. You'll need to resolve any holds before you can enroll in classes.

Financial Aid holds will prevent you from receiving student loan funds, but will not prevent you from registering unless you have past due accounts.

You cannot register if you have an MMR immunization hold or a Graduate Admissions hold.

You may also need to submit your final transcripts.

Choose Classes (What Should you Take?)

Please review the information for your program in the Curriculum section of this site. If you still have questions, contact your graduate support coordinator at SOSGradAdvising@asu.edu or set up an advising appointment.

Register for Classes

More on Registering for classes can be found on the ASU Registration page. Sign in to My ASU and navigate to your My Classes Box. Click on the tab for the term in which you want to enroll, e.g., "2024 Fall". Then click on the "Class Search" link below the box. You can use the advanced search drop-down menus to filter the class schedule. Or click here for fall 2024 SOS graduate level classes (pre-filtered class search).

Course Overrides (need consent?)

Some courses will not allow you to register unless you have "instructor consent" or "department consent" (if required,  the special notes section will direct you to the override form). For these, you must fill out a course override request form of the  "Override" means getting approved so that you can register for a specific class.

After you register, look at your schedule to make sure your enrollment was successful by clicking on the 'View My Schedule' button located in the My Classes Box on your My ASU page.
