Export a Video
Unless you’re planning on teaching your students how to use DaVinci Resolve to view your videos, it’s probably best to find a more user-friendly alternative. The first step we need to take is exporting the video you created in Module 1, but specifically in a way that will make it optimized for playback on YouTube. Luckily, DaVinci Resolve allows us to do this with just a few clicks.
The clip below shows you how to export your video using DaVinci Resolve’s built-in preset for YouTube. We recommend that you save your exported video to the same folder in which you’ve already been working.
NOTE: You may notice an option that allows you to upload your video from DaVinci Resolve directly to YouTube. This option does potentially have some time-saving benefits, however, it also poses certain risks. For example, it’s not uncommon for the initial setup to connect DaVinci Resolve and YouTube to be clunky or fail. Furthermore, video uploads can fail or malfunction for seemingly no reason. Troubleshooting issues with this process is not trivial, so we recommend that you avoid this alternative.
