Module 1
Import and Edit Media
Import and Edit Media
Open DaVinci Resolve Application
The very first thing you need to do is open the DaVinci Resolve application. If you need assistance with this, you can reference one of the following options that corresponds to your operating system.
Create a DaVinci Resolve Project
Once you have opened the application, you can reference the video clips below to learn how to create and name a new DaVinci Resolve project.
This is where you can open saved projects.
After creating and naming your project, familiarize yourself with the DaVinci Resolve interface. The above video clip guides you through the various window options. Confirm that you're in the Edit window before proceeding further.
Import Media
The video clip above demonstrates how to import multiple pieces of media all at once into the Media Pool using either the corresponding menu options or the drag-and-drop method. Both methods yield the same result so it ultimately comes down to a matter of personal preference.
Use this process to import media including the video bumper and your talking-head raw video.
NOTE: You may encounter a message asking if you want to change the project’s frame rate. The following clip explains why you should agree to changing the rate and what changing frame rate means in more detail.
