Copy: To move exact text from one place to another. To do this, highlight the text you intend to copy and press Ctrl and c. This will copy the highlighted text. You can also highlight the text to copy, then right-click and select “Copy” to complete this task.
Cut: Unlike Copy & Paste, Cut entirely deletes and copies any highlighted item by highlighting your selected contents and clicking Ctrl and x, or right-clicking and selecting “Cut.” For example, if you cut the word “football” from the sentence “Today is our football game.” After cutting it, it will read: “Today is our game.” You can paste (Ctrl + v) the word “football” in another location where you place your cursor.
Drag and Drop: To select an item while holding down the mouse ("drag"), and move it to a specific location to “drop” the item.
Embed: To integrate various media with an Embed Code or Link into differing platforms and locations.
Export: Also referred to as “render” in DaVinci Resolve, rendering refers to removing the final video product for users to view without downloading the DaVinci Resolve Software. You can export to YouTube, Dropbox, Vimeo, Twitter, and other sharable platforms.
Fade-In: Gradually turn the volume up (or visual clips, i.e., a black screen) in a video.
Fade-Out: Gradually turn the volume down (or visual clips, i.e., a black screen) in a video.
Frame Rate: This refers to the speed of imported videos from your computer.
Import: To add any form of usable media to the Media Pool.
Inspector: A tab on the top-right corner of DaVinci Resolve that allows you to edit videos with zoom in, zoom out, crop, flip, dynamic zoom, among other video editing tools.
Mark-In: This function sets a starting point for that specific clip.
Mark-Out: This function sets an ending point for that specific clip.
Media Pool: The location where all imported media elements(s) are housed.
Module: This is a specific set of page(s) added on the Canvas LMS to provide structure to an online course.
Paste: Place your cursor where you’d like the previously copied text to land. Press Ctrl and v. This will paste the previously highlighted/copied text. You can also right-click in the place you’d like to paste the materials and select “Paste” to paste.
Render: Also referred to as “export” in DaVinci Resolve, rendering refers to removing the final video product for users to view without downloading the DaVinci Resolve Software.
Source Viewer: This field enables a preview of media and to precisely trim before adding a clip to the Timeline.
Timeline: The interface field where all media is added and can be arranged and edited.
Timeline Viewer: An interface field which allows users to precisely view and select clips on the timeline in order to control timing and arrangement of project elements.
Trim: Tool used to adjust the length of a clip.
Video Bumper: A provided pre-recorded media file with the Skaro University logo, music, and contents.
