Activity Summary
After completing this course you will be able to successfully trim your video, add a text tile, add a transition, fade to black, export, and finally embed your video into your learning management system. Once those things are done you will submit your link to the discussion and a team member will provide feedback and ensure that things were embedded correctly and your video was successfully edited.
At this stage, you should be able to follow these instructions to edit your video, upload it to YouTube and embed it into your learning management system. After completing the activities on the preceeding pages, you will have done the following:
Using the sample video clips from Home, follow the steps from each page of Unit 1 starting with Unit 1, Page 1 to replicate the example video.
Follow the instructions from Unit 2, Page 1 to export and upload your video to YouTube.
Follow the instructions from Unit 2, Page 2 and copy the embed code from your YouTube video.
Now you will embed your first Course or Unit Introductory video onto a discussion post on this page, where a member of the DOIT Learning Design team will view and assess your work, and provide feedback by responding directly to your discussion post.
Paste the embed code that you copied from your YouTube video into the "Discussion Post" field. Click "Submit".
This assignment will be evaluated based on the University of Skaro DOIT Learning Design video requirements.
Once you submit the post with the YouTube video embed code in the discussion page, you have completed the learning activity.
A Learning Design team member will reply to your post with feedback from this activity, after which you will begin making your own course and unit introductory videos with your very own talking head video clips.
Once these have been posted to your own Canvas course, a member of the Learning Design team will assess and ensure these are up to standard and be in touch with you via email.
Congratulations on learning how to make your very own introductory videos!
