Activity Summary
In this final step you will be embedding your video into your Canvas account. From your YouTube channel, you will learn how to find your video and how to find the embed button. The step after that will be important to follow correctly because it is the final step before finally adding it to Canvas. Once this step is completed you will have successfully edited, exported, and embeded your video.
The learner will be able to apply the “embed” feature of the uploaded YouTube video and integrate it into the module pages of their Canvas course.
In your browser, go to youtube.com and click “Your Videos” on the left side.
Note: your YouTube visual theme may look different than this!
Find the video that you have exported to YouTube from DaVinci, hover your mouse over it and buttons will appear underneath the title of the video. Click on the fourth one which looks like a play button. This will take you to your video.
Once you are at your video page, click on the “Share” button underneath the title of the video.
A dialog box will appear with several icons representing different sharing options. The first of these will be “Embed”. Click on it.
This will open a box with your video on the left side and a block of text on the right side. This is your “embed code”. Simply click the “Copy” button at the bottom right of the box.
With your embed code copied, simply paste it into your desired Canvas page, publish the page and your introduction videos will be viewable directly from your course Canvas pages. Great work!
