3 minute read, 4 minute video, 3 minute activity
Activity Summary
In this step you will be guided through the process of trimming your video. This step is important to your video editing process, it will help you take out parts that are slow, not important to the content, or for any other reason. Make sure to review this section carefully to ensure you trim your video in the correct way.
Next you will have to trim the videos that you have just uploaded.
Double-click the talking head video in your media pool. A larger video player will appear to the right of your media pool pane called the “source viewer”. This lets you view individual clips from your media pool.
Under the video in the source viewer, there is a horizontal bar with a white slider.
Drag the slider to where you want your talking head video to begin and press the “Mark In” button in the lower right corner, which looks like a triangle pointing at a bar to the right.
Now move the slider to where you want your video to end and click the “Mark Out” button, directly to the right of the “Mark In” button, which looks like a triangle pointing left to a bar.
Trim your video to begin and end at the right moment.
Now you must insert the trimmed video from your media pool into your timeline.
Click and drag the bumper video into your timeline (located beneath the source viewer), followed by the talking head video.
Your timeline should now have your two video clips back-to-back
