ASU Online provides a number of helpful orientation resources and ongoing faculty support including access to the Master Class for Teaching Online, a two-week long, instructor-facilitated online course focusing on course design and pedagogy, and TeachOnline, a blog with insights for ongoing professional development. Every ASU Online class section includes an instructor-only module with links to instructor resources. Select the training tab as shown to enroll in the ASU Online Faculty Center to access the self-paced faculty orientation and other helpful resources. You can also request access using the link below.
The ASU Online Orientation offers an important snapshot of our student demographics, which provides valuable insight into significant differences between our ASU Online learners and traditional campus learners. We encourage you to consider the needs of our unique online learner base when implementing strategies for engagement and connecting with the students in your classroom.
If you have not yet completed the 30-minute ASU Online Orientation found in the ASU Online Faculty Center, please do so. This Orientation introduces the services, resources, and tools that support instructors as they teach and/or design courses through ASU Online. All instructors should complete this Orientation whether they have taught through ASU Online in the past or not to help ensure they are up-to-date on the processes, resources, and services available to assist them. The ASU Online Faculty Center is available as a course within Canvas.
ASU Online Canvas for Instructors is a self-paced, non-facilitated online course on using Canvas.

ASU Online hosts a number of workshops and webinars on the pedagogy for teaching online as well as using technologies to support student learning.
The Master Class for Teaching Online is the flagship workshop required of all instructors teaching in an online degree program. It is offered 3-4 times a year.
