As a Reading Interventionist at ASU Prep, I look forward to have spending the next school year supporting your child while they grow as a reader! I am so excited about the year ahead, and am looking forward to meeting you and your child. Together, as parents and teacher, we can truly provide a comfortable, stimulating, and nurturing environment for your child's literacy skills to flourish. My promise to you is that I will consistently put the best interest of your child first, keep you informed about your child’s growth and classroom activities, and always welcome your input and support. School is such an exciting, enriching place to be! We will be developing a plethora of literacy skills and strategies through the use of quality literature. I will work diligently with his or her general education teacher to differentiate classroom instruction and accommodate for his or her needs. I work hard to differentiate my teaching and structure lessons to meet the needs of all learning styles, so that each of my students will have a wide range of vehicles for learning.

I am excited to be teaching reading K-6^th grade this year! I have taught pre-school through high school and just about every subject area but reading is my favorite subject to teach. Knowing how to read opens doors and is necessary for success in all areas of our lives. Once reading becomes less of a struggle, you are rewarded with reading for pleasure.

A little about me-I have two grown children. My son lives in Houston, Texas with his wife and they have two little boys, Everett and Cohen. My daughter lives in Fayetteville, Arkansas with her husband and they have a little girl, Olivia. I travel to spend time with them every chance I get.

I graduated from the University of Arizona and married right out of college. I have lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Peachtree City, Georgia and Houston, Texas. Phoenix is where I grew up and where I call home.

I do have two “fur babies” at home. I love animals! I have a Calico cat, Zoe and a Yorkie (dog) named Lily. I can’t wait to get home each night as they greet me like I have been gone for days.
