About Me

I love the ASU Prep South Phoenix community! I believe in a student-centered classroom and that students greatly benefit from taking an active role in their learning. Through design thinking with a service learning focus, students will have an opportunity to collaborate, create, explore and influence change within their community.

My husband is a firefighter and we are both actively involved in our Phoenix community.Personally, I enjoy nature and being outdoors (even when its blazing hot outside). I love to travel and explore, one of my favorite destinations is Cancun, Mexico.

I look forward to another rewarding school year. This is also an exciting year because I am in my first year of my doctoral program through ASU. I plan to use this opportunity to positively influence my classroom, our school and community.

This year the students will focus on activities related to:

Service learning, Design Thinking and *The Four C's - 1. Communication, 2. Collaboration, 3. Critical Thinking and 4. Creativity

Kindergarten - First Grade

Quarter 1: I can share ideas and work with others

Projects: Learning and presenting about different jobs in our community

Second - Third Grade

Quarter 1: I can communicate ideas and collaborate with others

Projects: Researching and presenting different careers in our community

Fourth/Fifth - Sixth Grade

Quarter 1: I can communicate ideas and collaborate with others

Projects: Design Thinking Intro.: Redesigning your perfect classroom space

Extra Curricular Clubs and School Events

School Events:
Student Ambassadors: Our student ambassadors are the leaders and student voice for our school. They will assist with assemblies, after school events and new student orientations. We meet weekly, during school hours on Wednesdays.
Dance Club: This student led club is led by two 6th graders passionate about dance! This club will meet weekly during school/lunch hour on Wednesdays. This club is offered to 3rd grade students.
