We are delighted to announce that ASIJMUN VI's keynote presentation will be given by His Excellency Masafumi Ishii, former Japanese ambassador to Indonesia. 

A graduate of the University of Tokyo, Ambassador Ishii is a veteran diplomat within the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), holding the following major posts in his career spanning four decades:

• Head of Political Section at the Japanese Embassy in London

• Head of Political Section at the Japanese Embassy in Washington, D.C.

• Representative of Japan to NATO (2014-2017)

• Ambassador of Japan to Belgium (2014-2017)

• Ambassador of Japan to Indonesia (2017-2020)

• Special Adjunct Professor at Gakushuin University (2021-Present)

• Director of the Resona Research Institute

Ambassador Ishii has experienced firsthand what it means to navigate peace and diplomacy through turbulent times. Today, he continues his work to promote an equitable and prosperous world order while working to foster the next generation of diplomats.
