Hello delegates!
My name is Sophie, and I’m honored to serve as your Deputy Chair with Allen for this year’s ASIJMUN conference.
I’m a Sophomore at ASIJ, and I started my MUN journey last year. Since then, my eyes have been opened to a world of diplomatic negotiation, collaboration, and attention to geopolitics. My time as a delegate sparked my love for international relations, teaching me the importance of confidence and real, attentive listening to others in the room.
Outside of MUN, I love to travel, perform in theater productions, figure skate, and, of course, eat good food.
As you continue your MUN journey, I hope you have fun getting to immerse yourself as your assigned country and really take on the role of representing your delegation. Don’t be afraid to be bold and challenge the status quo—as you address global issues, take the chance to grow and learn as much as you can.
I can’t wait to meet you all in April! Until then, best of luck with your preparations. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at 28lees@asij.ac.jp.
