Virtual Review

Each charter holder undergoing a Five-Year Interval Review will participate in a virtual review process. This process includes two components:

The compliance review requires a charter holder to submit documentation in specific areas to demonstrate compliance with Statute, Rule, and policy that is applicable to charter schools.

Board staff uses a checklist to review information found on a charter holder's website, as well as documentation that is submitted to Board staff to determine compliance. See the Compliance Review tab for further information.

The Academic Systems Review is required by the Board's Academic Performance Framework, and includes a review of documents to evaluate the school's academic systems, specifically, to gain an understanding of how the school develops and implements the following:

  • A curriculum designed to improve student achievement.

  • A system for monitoring the integration of the Arizona academic standards.

  • A system for monitoring and documenting student proficiency.

  • A professional development plan that supports the implementation of the curriculum.

See the Academic Systems Review tab for additional detail.
